Storm Erases Historic Iowa Barn

This week in the First Light look at stories from around the state, Illinois Public Radio’s Jason Parrot takes you just across the Mississippi River to rural eastern Iowa. On July 19th severe weather ripped through Van Buren County, Iowa. The storm damaged a county building, a lumberyard, and other nearby properties. The weather also took a piece of the county’s history with it; but not before residents were able to preserve the history on canvas.
